About the Department
The Department of Marathi at Loknete Balasaheb Thorat Arts, Commerce, and Science College, Talegaon Dighe, established in 2009, is dedicated to promoting and preserving the Marathi language and literature.
The department is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University and offers undergraduate programs catering to general and special-level studies. We aim to support students’ academic journey, create awareness about Marathi literature, and encourage language application in real-life situations.
With a focus on building self-confidence, preparing students for competitive exams, and guiding them towards various job opportunities, the department organizes seminars and workshops to enhance students’ presentation and communication skills.

Marathi is the regional language of Maharashtra and a classical language of India. It is the 19th most spoken language in the world and has won the prestigious Jnanpith Award four times. Marathi serves as an administrative, educational, and literary language.
